Projects

Here is a list of some of the research projects that I have been a part of, either as co-investigator or Principal Investigator. I am actively involved with current projects, even though some might be between funding. Past projects are finished, even though I sometimes return to the topic or data.

Current

IMMERSE.
In the Horizon 2020 project IMMERSE, we aim to implement and evaluate the MoMent App, a solution that allows people with mental health conditions to monitor their thoughts, feelings, and symptoms several times a day, and share those data with the health professional who treats them. I lead Work Package 5, Stakeholder Experience. In a large randomised controlled trial across four countries, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, and Slovakia, we want to investigate the benefits of MoMent in clinical practice.

CITE
The CITE initiative brings together collaborators at Makerere University, Kampala, the University of Edinburgh, and Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. I support the team by consulting on data-driven eHealth solutions that work in the Ugandan context, and on human factors of eHealth apps and medical devices.

PADMap
The PADMap project, led by the University of Edinburgh’s Resuscitation Research Group, aims to develop a data-driven resource that shows where installing a new public access defibrillator would make a difference. I support user requirements gathering and user interface design.

Street Support Scotland
Street Support Scotland is a resource for people who do not have a permanent address or who are in danger of losing their home and those who support them. It was adapted from existing successful Street Support instances and is currently looked after by the Simon Community Scotland. There are dedicated pages for Edinburgh and Glasgow. I work on data analytics and provide relevant expertise from Computer-Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
